Lasers have been used in dentistry since 1990
Laser procedures are very precise. There is less need to use a drill or to administer anesthesia in many laser procedures, allowing the patient to enjoy a more relaxed dental experience. Patients report fewer symptoms and faster healing times associated with traditional therapies. When lasers are used the amount of bacteria is reduced in the diseased gum tissue and bleeding is controlled during surgery.
Dental lasers are frequently used to:
-
Reduce the discomfort of canker and cold sores
-
Cosmetically re-contour the gums
-
Perform biopsy procedures
-
Help treat infections in root canals
- Speed up tooth whitening procedures
- Many other uses…
Alternatives to Lasers: Ozone therapy (click here)
Where many offices use lasers to disinfect cold sores, canker sores, gum disease and root canals, at Live Well Dental Center we use ozone to achieve the same( or better outcomes) than can be accomplished with dental lasers.
